Mr. P. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar visited and participated in multiple sports activities organized by Ibn Ajayan Real Estate Projects on Qatar’s National Sports Day held at Asian Town. The visit highlighted the role of sports playing a very important factor in creating a healthy community for both physical and psychological levels, a vital part in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 initiative.
IAP celebrated National Sports Day by holding a series of sports activities to highlight the prime importance of active and healthy lifestyles. Thousands of people from different expatriate communities participated in events led by senior officials on behalf of the organizing company, Ibn Ajayan Real Estate Projects. Among other sports and recreational games, the activities started with a basketball tournament and followed by volleyball tournaments for both gents and ladies, football, tug of war, Sepak Takraw, Football, and a variety of fun games. Cycling, Zumba, and blood donation camp held in Association with HMC BDK Qatar.
IAP’s Chairman Mr. Mohammed Bin Mahdi Bin Ajayan Al Ahbabi used the occasion to express his thanks and appreciation for all those who have helped to build the country. In his comments on the occasion, Mr. Mohammed said, “As part of our vision to be at the heart of the community, we are committed to encouraging and engaging our employees and others in a healthy lifestyle at Asian Town, as we provide free of charge sports court for everyone to include the sports in their daily activities”
Tug Of War competition champion Shaheed Bhagat Sing Youth Club
The second in the Sepak Takraw tournament was Team Iloilo City, and the third team is Pampanga, while the champion is Team Ilocos Sur.
Basketball tournament runner up went to Team Ibn Ajayan Projects, while the champion is Team Aktor.
Volleyball Gents tournament G4S1 Team won the second prize and the third prize is Aktor, while the champion is G4S2 Company Team.
Volleyball Ladies tournament, Army Lady Team won the second Prize, Team PSD Oryx won the third, while the champion is Team Alipores.
