Ibn Ajayan Projects Celebrated Garangao Festival at Asian Town on 17th June 2016. Hundreds of children from different parts of Qatar participated in the celebration and the painting competition conducted in association with Garangao. Garangao is a traditional Arabic festival for children, celebrated at the middle of Ramadan.

The winners are awarded with certificates, Trophy and Gifts. All the participants received certificates and traditional Garangao bags. The competition was held under two categories, junior section included participants from age group 5 to 10, while senior section for 11 to 14 years old children. 

Faiha Ismail, 9th standard student from Santhinikethan School won the 1st prize in the senior section while Janvi Murugan and Narmin Abdulla bagged the second and third prizes respectively.

 In the junior section Luqman Shihab, KG 2 students from Santhinikethan School won the first prize. Arini and Neslin Abdulla earned the second and third prizes respectively.



Considering the quality of paintings, organizers awarded some consolation prizes also. Faheem, Maiza Ismail, Fida Yasir and Salman Shihab received the consolation prizes. There was a lot of entertainments for the children, including face painting, photo booth, henna designing, cartoon characters and much more.

“This is the second time IAP that organizes Garangao celebration in Asian Town. Since it is intended for the children, Garangao is most precious for us among the many other events and programs we organize in the Ramadan. This celebration is IAP’s Ramadan gifts for the little kids” said Mr. Omar Zeidieh, AGM of Ibn Ajayan Projects.
